There are several ways you can be involved with the Lake Michigan Academy Community Garden. Opportunities are currently available for those who would like to

  • Donate seeds and plants for the garden
  • Donate fruit trees to plant around the school
  • Donate tools to use in the garden
  • Build additional raised beds
  • Plant seeds and plants
  • Help weed the raised beds and the flower beds
  • Maintain birdhouses
  • Build and maintain a rain collection system
  • Seek grants for supplies needed to maintain the garden
  • Prune plants and harvest produce as needed
  • Water the raised beds and the flower beds
  • Spend time before school, after school, or at recess teaching students about gardening​
  • Volunteer to moderate the discussion board and provide updated information for the website
  • Develop and maintain a compost program
  • Encourage others to participate in the Lake Michigan Academy Community Garden
