Welcome!

​The Lake Michigan Academy Community Garden is open to all who are associated with Lake Michigan Academy, Turning Pages, and Learning Differences Resource Group. Students, parents, siblings, grandparents, faculty and staff, and board members are all welcome to contribute. The garden currently offers 182 square feet of garden space spread among 7 raised beds, with the opportunity to add more as the garden grows. The garden also offers plenty of space for the addition of several fruit trees.

Purpose:

​The Lake Michigan Academy Community Garden is meant to serve many purposes. The Lake Michigan Academy Community Garden will:

• Develop a sense of pride and ownership of Lake Michigan Academy amongst our students and families
• Develop a sense of community amongst those associated with Lake Michigan Academy, Turning Pages, and LdRG
• Provide students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of gardening
• Provide students with opportunities to develop job and life skills
• Expose students to a variety of nutritionally rich foods
• Provide an aesthetically appealing landscape around Lake Michigan Academy
• Provide a unique learning experiences for the students of Lake Michigan Academy
