Teaching Differently for Those Who Learn Differently

Our ability to customize a curriculum to each student gives Lake Michigan Academy a unique advantage over other education systems. We begin by identifying the specific strengths and weaknesses that require special attention. Our students are intelligent, inquisitive and have a high academic potential.

Qualification is based on an outside diagnosis of a true learning disability. It is important that the assessment and diagnosis of a learning disability or ADHD be completed ahead of time so we can be sure Lake Michigan Academy is the right fit for your child.

We provide courses for grades 1-12 and keep a student ratio of 8:1 in the elementary classrooms and may go up to 10 students in middle and high school. In the afternoon, groups can become even smaller for remedial work in reading, writing, and math.

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What!’ You Too? I thought I was

the only one.”
