Offers voice search, definitions, audio pronunciation and thesaurus including both synonyms and antonyms, example sentences, word of the day, favorites, and recent history.

Kindle - Free

E-book reader, comparable to iBook. Researcher has found the books to be a bit cheaper. Font style and size can be adjusted, contrast selection between screen and font (black background with white font is frequently used by many students), built in dictionary includes pronunciation.

Provides access to audiobooks and e-books from the library (library card required). Easy to use and download books onto multiple synced devices. Is a great way to read books for free.

Audible - Free

Text-to-Speech. Expansive library of professionally narrated audio books. Although the app is free, books had to be purchased. Memberships available. Signing up through email to receive “daily deals” is a great way to inexpensively add to audio library. Books can be synced to multiple devices and bookmarked for multiple users.

Wikiweb - Free

Wikipedia reader- visualizes the connections between articles. Narrows down research topics to specifics. Is useful in allowing the student to find what he is looking for without being overwhelmed.

Myhomework, Student Planner - Free

Students organize their classes, assignments, homework, and tests. Optional free account allows students to sync between devices, and receive homework and tests reminders. Works great for students who regularly misplace their planner.
